Mission of the
Aix-Marseille Provence Metropolis
As part of its remit regarding mobility, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis is responsible for the development of transport infrastructure.
In this context, the Metropolis is enhancing its ‘La Métropole Mobilité’ transport network by deploying charging stations for electric vehicles across its territory.
Launched in September 2018, the La Métropole Mobilité network is characterised by its multi-modal nature.
By offering an increasingly wide range of modes of transport, it aims to reduce the proportion of fossil-fuelled cars in its territory.
Motivations
The Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis and the Bouches-du-Rhône Department are committed to an Environmental Agenda. One of the aims of this action plan is to improve air quality. A number of measures have already been taken in this direction, including €5,000 in financial aid to encourage residents to buy electric cars. In addition, the deployment of charging terminals, co-financed by the Department, will make journeys safer with this type of car producing no greenhouse gas emissions.
